From Chaos to Calling: How I Built The Church Girl Collective and Found My Purpose

In early 2024, my life felt like it was unraveling. Nothing made sense, everything seemed unstable, and I found myself in a season of painful transitions and soul-searching. But it was in the midst of that chaos that something extraordinary happened, I came back to Jesus. And what started as a personal journey of faith soon became something much bigger than myself: The Church Girl Collective.

Lost but Found

Returning to Christ after being away for so long (about 25 years) was both beautiful and confusing. I was hungry for Him, hungry for His Word, His presence, His peace. But if I’m honest, I didn’t know where to start. I didn't grow up in a church that emphasized spiritual disciplines or community, and now that I was trying to walk faithfully, I felt like a stranger in familiar territory.

As the Holy Spirit began to convict me lovingly but firmly, one of the areas that started to shift was my wardrobe. I didn’t think my clothes were "bad," but I began to ask myself honest questions: Does this reflect who I am in Christ now? Am I honoring God with how I present myself?

So I did what any modern woman does,I went to Google.

“Modest Clothing” and the Potato Sack Problem

I typed in “modest” and “modesty” over and over again. And what did I find? Honestly, clothes that looked like they were made for someone twice my age, or shaped like a potato sack.

Where was the color? The femininity? The beauty?

Where were the options for women like me who wanted to dress modestly without sacrificing style and identity? I didn’t want to be frumpy; I wanted to be faithful and fashionable. I longed for a space that celebrated modesty as something joyful, creative, and empowering, not restrictive and dull.

That longing didn’t go away. In fact, it grew louder.

A Dream is Planted

In the middle of that search, a small seed of a dream began to form. What if there was a place where women could shop for:

  • Stylish and modest churchwear

  • Faith-inspired jewelry

  • Beautiful, functional Bibles

  • Thoughtful gifts rooted in scripture

  • Home goods that pointed people to Christ

What if there was a community that didn’t just sell faith-inspired items but lived the faith out loud, boldly, and beautifully?

That’s how The Church Girl Collective was born.

Building in the Storm

I launched The Church Girl Collective during one of the most chaotic seasons of my life. I was navigating personal losses, letting go of old habits, trying to hear God's voice, and learning how to walk this narrow path, all at once.

I didn’t have a perfect business plan. I didn’t have investors or a big team. What I had was a vision, a laptop, and a whole lot of prayer.

Some days were incredibly discouraging. I’d question myself, asking, Is anyone even going to care? But God kept confirming this was more than just a business, it was ministry. A space for the modern believer who loves Jesus, style, and sacred living.

And little by little, The CGC took shape.

What The Church Girl Collective Stands For

We are more than an online store. We are a movement of believers who choose:

  • Modesty with meaning

  • Faith over fear

  • Community over competition

  • Excellence over excuses

  • Jesus over everything

We curate every product with intention, from blouses that make you feel confident and covered, to jewelry that sparks gospel conversations, to Bibles that are beautiful enough to gift and functional enough to use every day.

But even more than the items we offer, we exist to uplift and equip you in your walk with Christ.

Why I Wouldn’t Change a Thing

If you had told me a year ago that I’d be running a faith-based brand and building a community of church girls around the world, I would have laughed in disbelief.

But now, I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything.

Every DM from someone who found the perfect modest outfit for their baptism, every testimony from a woman who felt seen and encouraged by a devotional we shared, every Bible gifted—these are reminders that God can use anything for His glory.

Even your mess. Even your chaos. Even your Google searches.

This is Just the Beginning

I believe God is just getting started with The Church Girl Collective. We’ve got big dreams. But none of this works without YOU.
