How to Create a Christ-Centered Morning for the Modern Church Girl
Hey Church Girl!
Let’s be real, mornings can be a lot. Between hitting snooze (too many times), figuring out what to wear, and trying to remember if you even have coffee left… it’s easy to start the day in a rush.
But what if your mornings didn’t feel so chaotic? What if they felt… calm? Grounded? Holy, even?
That’s where a Christ-centered morning comes in. You don’t have to wake up at 5AM or have it all together, this is about making space for Jesus in a way that works for your life. Let’s talk about it.
1. Start with a Moment of Stillness
Before you grab your phone or check your texts, take a second. Just breathe. Say a quick prayer like, “Jesus, I give You this day.” It’s a simple way to shift your focus from ugh to okay, God’s got me.
Light a candle, play some quiet worship music, and just be for a minute.
2. Open Your Bible (or Your Bible App, No Shame)
You don’t need an hour-long Bible study (unless that’s your thing). Read a verse, a short devotional, or even just sit with one line that hits your heart.
Some mornings I just open my journal and write down:
-
One thing I’m grateful for
-
One verse I want to carry into the day
-
One prayer I need to pray, even if it’s messy
P.S. If you need tools for this, The Church Girl Collective has the cutest faith journals and devotionals to help you stay on track without feeling overwhelmed.
3. Talk to God Like You Talk to Your Bestie
No fancy words needed. Just tell Him what’s on your heart. Even if it’s “God, I’m tired and I don’t wanna go to work.” He gets it.
Pray over your day, your people, your plans. And leave space to listen. Even if you don’t “hear” something, the peace that shows up? That’s Him too.
4. Speak Life Over Yourself
Girl, your words have power. Don’t just scroll and compare, declare. Speak truth over your life before the world tries to speak lies.
Here are a few to keep in your back pocket:
-
“I’m chosen and called.”
-
“God’s already gone ahead of me.”
-
“Today is full of grace, and so am I.”
Write them on your mirror, in your journal, or literally say them out loud while brushing your teeth.
5. Get Dressed with Intention
It’s not just about the clothes, it’s about how you feel in them. Put on something that reminds you of who you are: loved, confident, radiant.
Need inspo? Our “Called” Oversized Tee + "Wonderfully Made" Trucker Hat + "Crystal Cross Gold Necklace" = chef’s kiss. Effortless and full of purpose.
6. Move a Little, Breathe a Lot
You don’t need a whole workout. Stretch. Walk. Dance around to Maverick City in your kitchen. Move your body and connect with your soul—it helps more than you think.
Real Talk:
Your morning doesn’t have to look perfect. Some days it’ll be five minutes. Some days, you’ll crush it. Either way, Jesus just wants your heart, not your performance.
Start where you are, with what you have. He’ll meet you there every time.
Love you, Church Girl. You’ve got this. 💛
